“We
were staking out a design
in Wausau, WI for cut and
fills. Then the engineer
emailed us a changed design
plan. To our amazement we
opened the design file in
Carlson Takeoff and within
minutes, we determined the
cut and fills for the whole
site. Then we simply transferred
the design surface (tin)
to our GPS dozer system
with ease. There were no
transitions whatsoever. It
was awesome.”

“Congratulations
on a
job well
done! I
thought Carlson
Survey 99
was good,
but Carlson
Survey XML
makes it
a whole
new ball game.
It's obvious
to
me
that
you
folks
have
had
real
world
experience
with
real
world
surveying.
I
have
used
software
before
that
apparently
was
written
by
programmers
who
never
went
outside
to
the
woods,
and
as
a
result,
they
gave
you
a
set
of
tools
that
look
good
on
paper,
but
don't
really
do
things
the
way
they
are
done
in
a
surveying
business.
Carlson
has
given
me
a
set
of
tools
that
do
what
I
need
to
do
in
my
everyday
work.
Survey
XML
has
everything
I
need
to
do
projects
like
boundaries,
topos,
engineering
design
surveys,
route
surveys,
you
name
it.
I
have
not
been
limited
by
this
software.
It
is
interesting
to
me
how
ya'll
managed
to
make
such
a
technically
sophisticated
and
powerful
program
this
easy
to
use.
The
user
interface
is
very
well
thought
out,
and
the
survey
routines
are
clear-cut
and
intuitive.
The
cogo
routines
are
especially
good.
I've
only
only
had
to
talk
to
your
tech
support
department
one
or
two
times,
but
EVERY
time
I
have
called
up
there,
I
got
a
real
live
person
on
the
phone
that
actually
knew
what
they
were
talking
about.
What
a
concept!
After
all
is
said
and
done,
any
surveying
software
is
only
a
tool
to
be
used
to
produce
a
final
product,
and
that
product
must
be
an
accurate
representation
of
the
real
world
to
our
clients.
Some
tools
are
a
pleasure
to
use,
much
like
having
a
sharp
machete
to
clear
a
line
through
the
swamp.
Carlson
Survey
XML
is
one
of
those
tools.
I'm
glad
I
have
this
machete.”

“I
wish
we’d
had this
technology
(AutoGrade)
two years
ago, when
we were
doing the
Pelican
Lakes job
at Caloundra.
On the
golf course
there,
we had
more stakes
than you
could count.
The surveying
cost ran
to about
AU$250,000
and I reckon
we would
have saved
AU$150,000
of it,
if we’d
had GPS
available.”

Peachey,

Director,
